What we do
All our students are taught by working TV actors who are perfectly placed to support our students achieve their goals.
Since our launch, Small Screen Talent has launched numerous successful careers for our young talent, with many current and ex-students going on to find professional work in the world of TV, Film and Commercials. As we look to the future, Small Screen Talent is investing heavily in digital technology to ensure our students are able to explore opportunities in this ever growing arena and we look forward to helping your child on the next step of their talent journey.
What makes us different?
Unlike other performing arts academies, we don’t focus on singing or dancing. Small Screen Talent focuses solely on acting and the techniques required to bring a performance to life on screen; including improvising, scene study, filming and devising.
We offer 2 free taster sessions so that students can get a flavour of our classes. After that, class fees are paid on an affordable monthly basis by direct debit – so there are no hefty term time fees to worry about.
We only work with young performers who love to perform and want to be there. Our standards are high but we recognise raw talent when we see it – which allows us to handpick only the most talented students and help them to unlock and realise their true potential.
We have regular visits and workshops from industry professionals (all of whom have been DBS checked) including casting directors, writers and directors. In an industry where contacts are everything, this is a great way for our students to develop a professional network – a vital resource when it comes to winning paid jobs. It’s also a useful way of getting professional feedback and ensures standards are always maintained to the highest level.
Our drama workshop is complemented by the proactive and forward thinking Small Screen Talent agency. Representation is offered only to students who have demonstrated considerable skill and commitment to their training and to those who we believe are ready to be submitted for professional paid work. Unlike many children’s agencies, we pride ourselves in our honest and open approach. We won’t make promises we can’t deliver, our commission structure is transparent and industry leading and there are no hidden charges or joining fees. Students who are offered representation will need to join Spotlight – the casting directors directory of actors.
Most importantly, as well as being informative, our classes are fun!
The techniques we use to enhance our students’ acting ability have been proven to assist with developing future life skills including; confidence, creativity, problem solving, focus, perseverance, public speaking, resilience and non-verbal communication.
We believe that we can bring the best out in your childrens natural on screen talent.
